goodbye and hello.

I’ve decided to quit my internship at The Alamo Colleges. While it was cool to work with the international programs department and my knowledge about study abroad definitely expanded, I know that I’ve learned as much as I am ever going to learn in that office. Also, I really disliked my cubicle. People aren’t meant to sit in spaces like that for hours. It’s time for a CHANGE.

And change has come rather quickly. I begin a new internship next week at The Current, San Antonio’s weekly alternative newspaper where I will be working with the calendar editor to make sure that all of the lovely citizens of San Antonio know what to do with their free time. It’s going to be great.  I had an interview at their downtown office before I left on holiday. Windows! Young people! Dogs! Music! It’s a cubicle-free dream.

I will be working mostly within the calendar section, but I’m also allowed to contribute in any other way that I’d like. I could review Laura Marling’s latest album or take and edit sweet pictures or report on a local event. The possibilities are endless! And all the while I will be working on my writing skills so that I will (hopefully) be prepared for grad school. I’m so excited. Check out The Current!
